Before moving to Durango, I attended High Tech Elementary. My dad was a teacher at High Tech High. I loved the projects and getting to build things. I felt like from the young age of 7 years old I was being pushed academically. When I moved here, I knew I wanted to continue with this learning path. Throughout middle school, I was unable to find the academic rigor I was searching for. I felt unable to be creative and expressive. Searching everywhere, at all three middle schools, I was not succeeding. So as I dived into the process of choosing high schools, my choice felt easy. I wanted to come to a place where I could choose how I wanted to learn.
